
Shyam Benegal was an Indian film director. He was born in 1934 in Thirumalagri in Hyderabad state during British India. Presently Hyderabad is the capital of Telanagana State. Shyam Benegal made his directorial debut in 1975 with the film Ankur. Shyam Benegal died on 23 December 2024 at the age of 90 in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
